Noodles in Lincoln

Now that the amazing Macaroni Grill is no longer a part of Omaha, you have to make a short trip to Lincoln.  But with a great friend and some conversation you can get there in no time.  The Macaroni Grill looks exactly the same at all of its locations throughout the U.S.  It is a lovely Italian eatery.  There is a generous selection of wine as well as different non-alcoholic drinks offered.  Their food menu consists of chicken, beef and fish selections, all made to perfection.  Aside from the traditional menu there is also a "pick-your-own" menu.  You are able to design you own entree.  You simply pick you noodle, sauce, meat and vegetable,  then they create a masterpiece of perfection for your taste-buds.  With the arrival of your server, you are presented with a delicious warm loaf of bread, accompanied by a homemade spread, (olive oil, parmesan cheese and cracked black pepper).  Please save some room for some desert.  Your mouth will water at the idea of their delicate tiramisu or gelato and fresh berries.  My suggestions include the calamari or stuffed mushrooms as a starter, followed by a garden salad, the chicken scaloppine and finished up with a tiramisu.  It's delightful!  Trust me it's worth the trip to Lincoln.

Fast Food - Mexican Style

Qdoba or Chipotle?  There is a great debate in Omaha between these two competitors.  It seems as thoufh you are either on one side or the other.  When it comes time for me to decide, it's a no-brainer.  I would go for a Qdoba treat hands down every time.  Although I have only attempted a dining experience  once at Chipotle, I will remain a loyal Qdoba customer.  The Qdoba restaurants have a very clean and friendly, yet modern feeling to them.  The menu has a variety of choices that change seasonally.  Besides the vast selection of food to choose from, there are also many promotional offers available such as the Qdoba card.  Cardholders are able to redeem points for their purchasesas later use their rewards for free lunch or dinner.  Even better, Tuesdays are double points days.  There is also a "free lunch" fishbowl.  After you have placed your personal business card into the fishbowl you have the chance to win a free lunch.  With all the fresh food made from scratch in-house and great offers, you can't go wrong with a trip to Qdoba.  My suggestion is the delicious chicken quesadilla with a side of chips and queso dip.  Don't forget to show your student ID card to receive a free medium soda.

The Restaurant Blog

I have decided to blog about the Omaha/ Lincoln restaurant scene.  Not only does Omaha consist of the most restaurants per capita but it has also turned into a rapidly growing field.  Omaha and Lincoln have a variety of eateries that are within a close proximity of one another.  There are the locally family-owned shops like King Kong located both in Omaha and Lincoln, and then the big chain restaurants such as Old Chicago or Buffalo Wild Wings.  No matter what type of restaurant you prefer, you can find it in one of the two cities.  The good part:  you will never have to worry about not finding a good place to eat.

My Twitter Page

I have been tweeting for close to a year now, I think.  I heard about it while watching Good Morning America, as I was getting ready for work or school in the morning.  I thought Twitter seemed interesting enough to try out.  I was still new to the social networking world of MySpace, Facebook and LinkedIn.  I remember thinking it was a bit silly at first.  I was under the impression that Twitter was basically posting status updates similar to Facebook or MySpace.  I did not find the logic behind that for anyone to be interested in my daily deeds.  I however, tried to keep my interest with Twitter.  I kept up with my tweets for a only a short time in the beginning.  I continued to hear more and more about it and its growing popularity and use within the entertainment  and political worlds.  Eventually I found myself writing an article about Twitter for an assignment due in my newspaper class.  I found out not only is Twitter a way to update your status, but also feature ways for marketing of different businesses.  I wrote about an article that I read.  It mentioned different businesses that used Twitter to tweet about their daily specials or where traveling businesses would be located in the city that day .  Twitter now seemed like a useful tool for many people and businesses.  I have also learned different functions of Twitter, such as posting a picture, bio and commenting on other "tweeters'" posts.  I do believe that Twitter has come a long way since it was created and will continue to grow.  I have also heard many times that some people think Twitter will replace newspapers.  I'm still not on the wagon with this statement, maybe in the very distant future, but not anytime close to now.  I don't think that Twitter will be going away anytime soon.  Overall, Twitter is a useful and helpful device.  You can view my Twitter profile: http://twitter.com/JuliaGulia82
